Questions, answered.
The most common questions about working with Evolution Therapy in Motion — from how mobile PT sessions work to what to expect during your first visit.
What is mobile physical therapy and how does it work?
Mobile PT means Dr. Cotton comes to you. Your home, your gym, your office — wherever you can move and recover comfortably. Each visit is a full one-on-one session with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. No waiting rooms, no shared treatment areas, no rushed handoffs to a tech.
What conditions do you treat?
Orthopedic, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal injuries — from low-back pain and rotator cuff dysfunction to post-surgical rehab, ACL recovery, tendinopathies, and chronic mobility limitations. If you’re a competitive athlete, weekend warrior, or just trying to move better, we can help.
Do you accept insurance?
Evolution Therapy in Motion is a cash-pay, out-of-network provider. We’ll provide you a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Direct-pay means more time with you, fewer documentation constraints, and care designed around outcomes, not insurance authorization cycles.
How long is a typical session?
Sessions are 60 minutes, fully one-on-one with Dr. Cotton. Initial evaluations may run slightly longer to accommodate movement screening, history, and program design.
Do I need a prescription or referral?
Texas is a direct-access state, which means you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral for most conditions. If your insurance requires a referral for reimbursement, we’ll work with your physician to obtain one.
What service area do you cover?
Greater Houston, Texas. If you’re outside the immediate service area, ask — we accommodate travel for the right engagement.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
A thorough movement evaluation, history intake, identification of your primary limitations and goals, hands-on assessment, and a starting treatment plan with home exercises. You’ll leave the first session understanding what’s going on and what the path forward looks like.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition. Acute injuries may resolve in 4–8 sessions. Chronic or post-surgical cases typically take 8–16 sessions. We’ll set realistic milestones at your initial visit and re-evaluate every 4–6 weeks.
Can you book me online?
Yes — book directly through our Square scheduling system on the contact page. New patients should complete the intake form before their first appointment so we can come prepared.
